Welcome to the eSports Lounge at the School of Arts, Media and Engineering, located in Stauffer B on the ASU Tempe Campus. The lounge is stocked with 12 brand new, high powered OMEN Obelisk Desktop PCs. If you are looking to come challenge other students to battle in Counterstrike, this is the place! Each desktop operates off of GGLeap software to help keep track of your accounts information, time tokens and games. Below are the specifications of the OMEN desktops. You can also find extra information on the lounges hours, rules and video games offered.

AME eSports Room Rules

The Rules In A Nutshell

  • Treat all other players with respect on all platforms.
    • Do not intimidate, threaten, insult, or harass others
  • Cheating is not allowed
    • Do not attempt to install mods on our computers.
  • Follow all instructions of the Staff members
  • Respect the computing equipment
  • Respect the room furnishings
  • Pay attention to the time remaining before logout.
  • No food or snacks are allowed at the gaming stations.

Our Core Tenets

  • Language- No Inappropriate language will be tolerated in the eSports room both digitally and verbally. This includes all forms of : swear words, words of a derogatory nature meant to be harmful, words or phrases meant to degrade or demean someone and any forms of physical or cyber bullying regardless of word choice including ”spamming”
  • Community- All members of the ASU community are welcome and encouraged to participate in gaming/eSports.  At no point should anyone make any other person feel uncomfortable or unwelcome in the eSports room.
  • Computers- The room is a shared community space. All of the equipment is ASU property and not your personal equipment. All equipment will be treated in such a manner that it is borrowed or leased for the time you are using it.
  • Damage- While using the equipment assigned to you, you assume responsibility for that equipment. Any damage to that equipment that is not from normal wear and tear, age, or normal use will be charged to you as direct cost of the price of the equipment. For example: hitting, throwing, smashing, yanking on the computer and peripherals, or any other actions not originally intended for the equipment.

What to have before using the AME eSports Room

Epic Games

Through the Epic Games Store we have access to Rocket League, Fortnite, and Smite.

Please have completed the following before playing the games on our computers:

  • Create a free account with Epic Games
    • This account can be with Epic or any of the other services their games are on.
      • Playstation
      • Nintendo
      • XBox
      • Apple
      • Steam
      • Microsoft
  • Make sure that Rocket League, Fortnite, and Smite are in your library (all are free)
    • You will be required to use the Epic Store or equivalent platform store to get the games
    • Does not require you to install the games on your own computer / device

Steam

Through Valve's Steam service we have access to Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

Please make sure you have completed these steps before trying to play CS:GO on our computers:

  • Create a free Steam account (if you already have one, that is fine)
  • Add CS:GO to your library from the Steam store, the game is free, does not require you to actually install the game.

Battle.Net

From Blizzard's Battle.Net service we have access to Hearthstone.

  • Please make a Battle.Net account prior to using our computers, it is free.

Minecraft

We also have Mojang's Minecraft available to play. This game is the only paid application on our computers.

  • Prior to playing on our computers you will need to have Minecraft account of your own ($26.95).
    • We do not have spare accounts for players to use.  

Riot Games

From Riot Games we have both League of Legends and Valorant available for play.

  • Please make a free Riot Games account to prior to playing the games on our computers.
    • The same free Riot account will give you access to both Valorant and League of Legends.
