Arts, Media and Engineering research + initiatives

We focus on systems that impact large-scale problems facing society, realizing our research by bringing together highly collaborative, transdisciplinary teams of individuals invested in improving the human condition. These individuals include ASU students, faculty and technical staff, as well as researchers and practitioners from outside of ASU.

Center: Practice and Research in Enactive Sonic Art (PARIESA)

Practice and Research in Enactive Sonic Art (PARIESA) involves performers, sonic artists, sound designers, composers, improvisers, as well as researchers and artists from other academic areas who have a shared interest in sound practice and research. We are curious about the extended interdisciplinary applications of enactive and embodied music cognition, performance, technology, and design, and the connections between these themes.
